Gates Cambridge University Scholarships for International Students 2022–2023 — Study in the UK
Gates Cambridge Scholarships Overview
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship program began when the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation granted the University of Cambridge a US$210 million commitment in October 2000, the largest gift ever made to a UK university. The first group of scholars arrived in October 2001.
Every year, Gates Cambridge awards about 80 eligible overseas students with full scholarships to enroll in full-time postgraduate programs in any discipline at the University of Cambridge. For PhD candidates, there will be about 25 scholarships available in the US round and 55 prizes available in the foreign round.
Outstanding intellect, arguments for enrolling in the program, a talent for leadership, and a willingness to better the lives of others are required criteria.
At any given time, Cambridge is home to at least 225 Scholars who represent more than 50 different countries. They study the whole curriculum that the institution offers, are scattered among its Colleges and departments, and create their own distinct community.
There are currently more than 1,700 Gates Cambridge Alumni across the world.
The objective of the Gates Cambridge Initiative is to create a global network of future leaders dedicated to improving the lives of others. It intends to accomplish this through highlighting exceptional students, providing them with financial and non-financial support at one of the best universities in the world, and encouraging community building inside Cambridge and beyond.
