announcing the start of the Master's and Ph.D. application process for the Commonwealth Scholarships in 2025. I'm excited to meet the next wave of changemakers in the Commonwealth! The Commonwealth is a Fully Funded Scholarship for UK Students to Complete a Master's or Ph.D. degrees offered in Britain. This UK Scholarship is quite prestigious. This fellowship is provided by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). More than 200 Commonwealth candidates are selected each year to study in the UK. You are not charged to apply.

Applications must be submitted online by students. Applications that are not submitted online will not be taken into consideration. Candidates must submit an application to a nominator, who may be chosen from among national government agencies or charitable organizations, or from the list of national nominating agencies. Applications are accepted from students in 45 countries, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Kenya, and India.

A housing allowance, a warm clothing allowance, complete tuition fees, airfare to and from the scholar's home country, a grant for study-related travel in the UK, and, depending on the situation, a childcare allowance are all included in the scholarship. In July 2025, successful applicants will receive information regarding their application's status.

The Commonwealth Master Scholarship is only valid for one year, while the Commonwealth Ph.D. Scholarship is only valid for three years.

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS)2026 are awarded to students pursuing master's degrees in Commonwealth nations with poor or moderate incomes. (Well-funded)

A special chance to pursue a two-year Master's degree in a Commonwealth nation with a low or middle income is provided by the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS). The scholarships are a life-altering chance to travel to a new nation and culture, expand perspectives, and create a lifelong global network, and they are intended for students who are dedicated to making a difference in their communities.

Condition for Applications 

1. Applicants must be citizens of a Commonwealth nation or have refugee status. 
2. To be eligible for a QECS Award, there is no upper age limit. 
3. To be eligible to apply, you must have earned at least a 2:1 (or its equivalent) at the undergraduate level.
4. Tuition costs that are fully funded 
5. Return economy flights to the host nation Living allowance (stipend) during the term of the award.
6.  Allowance for one-time arrival Research Support Grant (subject to approval; available by request only)

1.Examine the list of nations and academic institutions offering scholarships during this cycle. Please be aware that scholarship funding is only available for the courses that are listed.

2. Using the links provided below, go to the appropriate university's website to learn more about the course you have selected.

 3. Click the "Apply now" button to fill out and submit a QECS application for the university or course of your choice. You will be taken to a log-in page after clicking "apply."

4. Apply to the university of your choice to be admitted to the course of your choice.

The Commonwealth Scholarships will all be completely supported by the UK government by 2026. It will cover all expenses.

By October 2025, you must have earned a first degree with at least upper second class (2:1) honors, or a second class degree and an equivalent postgraduate certificate (typically a Master's degree).

54 countries from Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific make up the Commonwealth.

Deadline 

The Commonwealth 2025 Scholarship online application must be submitted by October 18, 2025, together with all necessary supporting documents. 

How to use (Understand it carefully) 

The CSC's application platform must be used to submit applications. 

  • Applications must be sent to the CSC and one of the organizations below. After that, nomination committees will forward candidates to the CSC. The CSC does not accept direct applications for these scholarships. 
  • National nominating bodies are the main channel for application. 
  • a few NGOs and charitable organizations 
  • Additional eligibility requirements unique to each Nominating agency exist.
  • Candidates must submit an application using the CSC's online application system in addition to any other applications that may be required by the nominating agency. 
  • Agencies must submit applicants to the CSC by December 2025. 

Additional Supporting Data 

Applications cannot be accepted without accompanying documentation. 

  • As evidence that the applicant is a citizen or has refugee status in one of the Commonwealth countries that is open to applicants, a copy of a current passport (or national ID card) with the applicant's photo, birthdate, and country of citizenship is required. 
  • Transcripts documenting all higher education credentials, including current transcripts for any courses being taken, in full, with certified translations if not in English.
  • at least two reference or recommendation letters on the institution's letterhead.
